Refresh your AI connection with Nicoka (MCP)
Do you use Nicoka from your AI assistant through an MCP connector (Model Context Protocol)? When new Nicoka tools are added or updated, they do not always show up in your assistant right away. This article explains how to refresh your connector to get the up-to-date list of tools.
Why refresh the connector?
When your AI assistant connects to Nicoka, it fetches the list of available tools (search a candidate, create an opportunity, list invoices…). It then keeps this list for as long as the connection lasts.
If new tools are published on the Nicoka side, your current connection therefore keeps showing the old list until it is re-established. Refreshing the connector makes your assistant ask for the full list again.
Refresh your Nicoka MCP connector
The menus depend on the AI assistant you use, but the principle is always the same: re-establish the connection. The video above shows the steps.
- Open your AI assistant's settings, then the connectors (or "MCP servers") section.
- Find the Nicoka connector in the list.
- Re-establish the connection, depending on the options of your tool:
- an option to refresh or reconnect the connector;
- or disable and enable the connector again;
- or disconnect and reconnect it.
- If none of these options exist, close and reopen your assistant, or start a new conversation: the list of tools is fetched again when it reconnects.
If the assistant sends you to the Nicoka Authorize access screen, sign in with your usual Nicoka account and click Allow.
Check that the list of tools is up to date
- Open the list of tools of the Nicoka connector in your assistant: the new tools should be there.
- Or simply ask your assistant to list the available Nicoka tools.
To find out what each tool does, see What your AI assistant can do in Nicoka (MCP).
